Machzor Set in Antique White Leather, Kaftor for Kallahs #1567
Pickup at both Lakewood stores
Description
Antique white leather on the #1567 frame, made up as a Kaftor kallah machzorim set. White is the boldest choice in this collection and the most bridal — on Rosh Hashanah, when the custom is to dress in white, a kallah carrying a white set is dressed to match the day rather than against it. The antique finish keeps it from being stark; there is shading at the edges and in the grain that a clean white cover would not have.
These are the machzorim for both days of Rosh Hashanah and for Yom Kippur, and white does ask a little more of its owner than bronze does. It is worth keeping the set in a cover or a bag between Yom Tovim rather than open on a shelf, and worth handling it with the same care anyone gives a white shoe.
Design #1567 also comes as siddur covers, haggadah covers, zemiros booklets and Chanukah pieces, though most people take the white for the machzorim alone and choose a warmer leather for the pieces used every week.
