Description
The #1547 frame in antique bronze leather, holding the Kaftor for Kallahs machzorim. Of the bronze sets this is the one ordered most heavily through wedding season, which says something about the proportions of the frame more than about the color — #1547 is the shape that photographs well and sits comfortably open in two hands.
A kallah uses these across Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, standing for hours with the machzor open. Bronze leather is forgiving over that kind of use: it does not show the oils from handling the way a pale finish does, and the antique treatment means the edges darken evenly rather than wearing through at one corner.
The same #1547 design is produced as siddur covers, haggadah covers, zemiros booklets and pieces in the Chanukah line. Chassanim shopping a gift list often take the machzorim now and note the design number for later, which is the sensible way to do it — the frame stays in production, and the pieces added in year three still match the ones bought in year one.
