Machzor Set in Antique Taupe Leather, Kaftor for Kallahs #1567
Pickup at both Lakewood stores
Description
The #1567 design in antique taupe leather, holding the Kaftor machzorim for a kallah. Taupe is a soft grey-brown, and the aged finish over it produces a surface that shifts between the two depending on the light — greyer by a window, browner under a bulb. It is a subtle color and it rewards being looked at closely, which is not true of every leather in this collection.
These are the machzorim for the Yomim Noraim, and a kallah is generally given them before the first Rosh Hashanah after the chasunah. It is a gift with a fixed annual appointment, which is worth thinking about when comparing it to the other things on a chosson's list — the set is opened on schedule, twice a year, for decades.
Siddur covers, haggadah covers, zemiros booklets and Chanukah pieces all come in the #1567 frame. The natural next purchase is the siddur cover, and after that a haggadah cover for the first seder the couple hosts themselves.
