Description
Grey antique leather finished with fur, on the #1547 frame, holding the Oiz VeHudar machzorim. The grey keeps it from reading as decorative — a warmer leather under fur can tip toward ornamental, and this one does not. It stays serious, which is the right register for a set that gets opened on Rosh Hashanah morning.
Men buy at this level for one of two reasons: to have a set that will be used for the rest of their lives, or to give one that will be. The leather binding and the fur are both built for handling rather than for a shelf, and the antique finish means the marks of use settle into the surface instead of standing out on it.
