Description
Antique grey leather on the #1557 binding, holding the Oiz VeHudar machzorim. Grey on a men's set is the quiet modern option — it has none of the warmth of bronze and none of the formality of black, and it reads clean against a plain shtender. The antique finish gives it enough tonal movement that it never looks flat or industrial.
Oiz VeHudar is the machzor for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and a bound set is bought for the long run. Two full days of davening a year, held and carried, is more wear than it sounds like, and the leather is what makes the set look the same at year fifteen as at year one.
Design #1557 covers a broad slice of the catalog — tallis and tefillin bags, siddur covers, haggadah covers and document holders. A man who already carries the grey bag on Shabbos is buying the machzorim to match, and that is exactly how most of these leave.
