The #1547 Oiz VeHudar machzorim in camel antique leather with a fur band. Two decisions are being made here at once — camel instead of black, and fur on a men's set — and together they produce something that looks nothing like what else is on the bench for Rosh Hashanah. It is not subtle, and it is not meant to be.

Underneath the trim it is a working machzor set. Oiz VeHudar is what a man davens from through both days of Rosh Hashanah and through Yom Kippur, and the leather binding is the part that has to survive that year after year. The camel finish is antiqued rather than flat, so it takes handling without showing it.

Design #1547 also runs as siddur covers, haggadah covers, zemiros booklets and Chanukah pieces. If you want the shelf to hold together, take the machzorim with the fur and the rest of the pieces in plain camel leather — the trim reads best when it is the exception.
