Description
Design #1537 in antique bronze leather, made up as a Kaftor for Kallahs machzorim set. The #1537 frame is one of the established shapes in this collection, and in bronze it comes out warm and slightly metallic without any of the shine a modern foil finish would give it. The aged surface means small marks from years of use never look like damage — they look like the rest of the leather.
The Kaftor machzorim are a women's set for the Yomim Noraim, held through the long stretches of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur davening. That is the test a machzor cover has to pass, and leather is the reason a set like this outlasts three replacements of an ordinary one.
The #1537 design is also carried in the zemiros booklets, which is a natural addition — the same leather at the Shabbos table as in shul. For a chosson working out what to give before the first Yom Tov, the two together make a complete gift.
