Description
The Schottenstein Edition Elucidated Rashi opens up Rashi's commentary on the Torah one comment at a time. Each comment begins with a short preview of the topic, followed by an expanded English translation that weaves the explanation into Rashi's own words.
Notes then ask what in the verse prompted Rashi to comment, show how the wording of the pasuk supports his reading, point to the Targum or Midrash he draws on, and look at places where other commentators read the verse differently. This is the full-size edition, in ten hardcover volumes covering all five books of the Chumash.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Elucidated Rashi different from the Sapirstein Edition Rashi?
The Sapirstein Edition presents Rashi with a flowing English elucidation alongside the Chumash. The Schottenstein Elucidated Rashi goes further, adding an introduction to each comment, notes on what prompted it, and longer insights into how other commentators respond.
How many volumes are in the full-size set?
Ten hardcover volumes covering all five books of the Torah, Bereishis through Devarim. A smaller personal-size paperback arrangement is sold separately.
Is the Hebrew text of Rashi included?
Yes. This is a Hebrew/English edition, so Rashi's Hebrew words appear together with the English translation and explanation.
More sets and editions: ArtScroll books and seforim.
