Description
The Complete Torah Reading Handbook contains everything you always wanted to know about kriat HaTorah--public Torah reading. Dr. Simon -- who has been a ba'al korei for more than 15 years -- has managed to make a difficult subject clear and understandable. He has written the most comprehensive book on the subject--with chapters on the origins and functions of each of the ta'amei hamikra (cantillation marks), an incredibly easy-to-understand guide to biblical Hebrew grammar and a discussion of many of the halachot (laws) of Torah reading. Handy charts, musical notes and a glossary make this learner-friendly handbook a must for anyone studying or teaching Torah reading!
Comes with a free audio download to aid in learning, with the different tunes for Torah, Haftorah, and all Megilloth readings.
"A useful and readable guide presented in a style that makes the material readily accessible to both my pre-bar mitzvah son and me."
-- Dr. Chaim Sukenik, Jerusalem
