Description
Should a Jew live in Eretz Yisrael, in a major Torah center near family, or in an outlying community where every person counts? Rachel Pomerantz's 376-page hardcover follows two families facing that question, comparing their uphill journey to pioneers crossing the Great Divide of the Rocky Mountains.
Crossing the Divide is the gripping tale of two families challenged by the question "Where should a Jew live?" In Eretz Yisrael, where the very holiness of the soil compensates for hardships and dangers? In a major Torah center, near home and family? In one of the outlying areas where every individual counts? Those who leave the communities in which they were raised must set out on an adventure and, as with the pioneers crossing the Great Divide in the Rocky Mountains, it is an uphill struggle whose success is not assured. This is a timely and timeless tale by author Rachel Pomerantz of believable characters struggling to make crucial life decisions.
