Description
This past century saw radical changes in the face of Jewish women's education. What have we gained? What have we lost? Where do we go from here? The righteous pillars of Jerusalem have a clear vision for the role of the Jewish daughter. She is the link in the chain of the transmission of our Torah. She is the mainstay of the home. She is her child's first teacher.
But where have our Yiddishe Mamas gone? Growing up in our modern work-oriented world, with pressure to support their husbands in learning, they have gone full strength into the work force. This can leave our homes and familes open to all sorts of alien, destructive influences.
B.C. Glaberson addresses these issues in interviews conducted with mainstay educators in Jerusalem seminaries. A gift for every Jewish woman and girl who realizes that it is only by looking to and learning from our great mothers of the past will we create the kind of future that can protect Torah and hasten final redemption, speedily in our days.
