Description
With war clouds gathering over Europe, the Bildmanns, the Alexanders and the Eisigs are compelled to take a fateful, heart-wrenching step. They send their young sons Erich, Karl, Otto and Kurt to London, where they hope and pray the children will be spared. But all too soon that haven proves equally dangerous and the boys are evacuated to the English countryside and taken in by kindhearted farming families.
This gripping historical novel weaves the actual experiences of youngsters who were part of the "Kindertransport" into the dramatic events of World War II, presenting a vivid account of physical and spiritual survival.
