Hand-Crafted Glass Menorah — Tree of Life, Birds
The Tree of Life motif spreads its branches behind the eight lights, and in this version birds are set among them. The branches carry the eye upward and the birds break the symmetry, so the piece stays interesting to look at across the full eight nights.
Worked by hand in glass, the tree is built up in layers of color rather than printed, which is why the branches hold depth when the candles are burning behind them. Place it where daylight can come through and it works as a window piece even when it is not Chanukah.
There are three other Tree of Life variations in this series, with flowers, with shattered leaves and with a single singing bird, if you want the same motif in a different register.
