I've Gotta Get Out of My Way: Overcoming Obstacles to Success, Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski (Hardcover)

Eliminating the obstacles to success

In this hard-hitting, spiritually uplifting book, renowned author and psychiatrist Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski shares an insight he gained from a recovering alcoholic: “It seemed that nothing turned out the way I wanted it to because someone was always getting in the way… I was dead wrong. It wasn’t the others who were in my way. I was in my own way… It suddenly hit me that if I wanted things to turn out right, I had to get out of my own way.”

We can be the obstacle to our own success and happiness. If we blame someone for our problems, then we don’t feel obligated to make significant changes in our lives. We may blame others for our being in a rut, attributing our problems to things we cannot change.

But we can change these things. We can solve our problems and stop laying blame where it doesn’t belong. To do that, we need to get out of our own way. With wisdom, insight, and refreshing candor, Rabbi Twerski shows us how.
