Large Hebrew Mikra'os Gedolos - Shmuel 1-2 Hardcover, ArtScroll

An unprecedented way to study the Prophets' timeless words.

This volume gives you Shmuel I and Shmuel II together, with the full Mikra'os Gedolos apparatus arranged around the pesukim so the classic commentaries sit where your eye already is. It is entirely in Hebrew, set in ArtScroll's large type, on pages laid out to be read rather than deciphered.

Anyone who has learned Navi from a cramped older edition knows what the difference is worth. Clear type and generous spacing change how long you can sit with a perek, and Shmuel in particular, with its narrative of Shmuel HaNavi, Shaul, and David HaMelech, rewards being learned slowly with the meforshim open.

At 904 pages and 7.5 by 9.75 inches this is a full-size volume built for a shtender, a table, or a shul bookcase rather than for travel. It suits a Navi shiur, a chavrusa working through Nevi'im Rishonim, or a home library that is filling in the Prophets one volume at a time.
