Description
Mayim achronim in lucite, design #101 — a clear acrylic piece for the washing at the end of the meal, roughly 6.5 inches wide and about 7 inches in height. Making it in clear lucite is the interesting decision here: the water stays visible the whole way through, and the object stays light on a table where a metal set of this size would be a real presence.
It gets passed at the end of the meal, which is exactly where a heavy set becomes a problem. At this size and weight it moves down a table hand to hand without a production, and it holds enough that nobody has to stop and refill halfway around. The lucite wipes dry, with no spotting and no tarnish to manage afterward.
Design #101 is also produced as an atarah, which is an unusual pairing and a useful one if you are assembling a gift with more than one piece in it. On its own the mayim achronim is a good chosson present: something a young man will use every Shabbos and would almost certainly never buy for himself.
