Description
Mendel always wants new pencils, glue and paper, even when his old ones work fine, until an astonishing encounter with his old pencil opens his eyes. This lighthearted picture book shows children how they, too, can be careful about bal tashchis and avoid needless waste.
A Story About Bal Tashchis
Mendel is a boy who always prefers to use new supplies of pencils, glue, and paper, rather than his perfectly-usable old ones. Then one day Mendel has an astonishing encounter with none other than his old pencil - and it opens his eyes to the nuances of bal tashchis.
Mendel and the Pencil is a charming book that teaches kids, in a fun and lighthearted way, how they too can be careful with bal tashchis!
