Description
What fuels our passion for learning? What gives our Torah learning its energy and consistency?
In this follow-up to Mastering the Mind, Saul Clarke explores the emotional and psychological forces that impact how a person learns Torah. Drawing on Chazal, classical Jewish sources, modern psychology, and social science, he explains how intrinsic drivers, such as curiosity and mastery, and extrinsic incentives, such as social pressure and rewards, can influence commitment and foster growth. By offering a practical framework based on the science of motivation, this volume will help Torah learners strengthen their purpose, build sustainable habits, and bring greater joy and intentionality to their study.
"A thorough and masterful job...exploring the factors that create motivation in Torah learning."
Rabbi Yitzchak Breitowitz ,Rav, Kehillas Ohr Somayach
"A clear, thoughtful, and honest guide to the forces that keep Torah learning alive-integrating Chazal with contemporary insight and translating ideals into durable practice."
Rabbi Daniel Feldman, Rosh Yeshiva, RIETS
