Description
The undershirt-style beged in boys sizes: a cotton t-shirt tzitzis with a round neck, stitched down the sides about 3.5 inches below the armhole and open from there, corners reinforced with a cotton lining, and an opening at the top of each corner so the strings can be tucked in before it goes in the wash. That last detail is aimed squarely at mothers.
Sizes 2 through 7, and the string choice is wide open: meyuchad machine-tied, thin avodas yad, thick avodas yad, or bli with no strings at all. Most families take meyuchad at this age; families who want hand-tied strings on a child's tzitzis have both weights here, and bli lets you have them tied by whoever you use.
The argument for an undershirt beged on a young boy is that it stays where it belongs. Nothing slides sideways off his shoulders, nothing gets pushed up under his shirt, and it doubles as the undershirt so there is one less thing to get onto him in the morning. Sizes are approximate — go by what he is wearing now.
