Description
The Mystery of the Lost Watch is a historical mystery for middle grade readers by Freidele Galya Soban Biniashvili. On a snowy Sunday in December 1957, Yudi Levy, age ten, and his big brother Shua are building snow forts at Mount Royal Park in Montreal when they find a precious gold pocket watch.
The watch is engraved with a menorah and some faded Hebrew letters. Could they point the boys toward its owner? Soon every Levy is helping with the search, but every lead seems to end nowhere, and the clock is ticking toward Chanukah. The book also includes a simple poutine recipe and notable events in Montreal's history, a window into Canadian Jewish life in the 1950s.
