The World That Was: Lithuania Rabbi Yitzchok Kasnett (Paperback, ArtScroll)

First-person accounts anchor this study of Lithuanian Jewry: Rabbi Mordechai Gifter, Rabbi Nochum Zev Dessler, Rabbi Avigdor Miller and Rebbetzin Zlota Ginsburg all speak in it directly.

Around them the book sets histories of famous and little-known places, more than a hundred photographs, stories, maps and statistics, tracing the towns and villages that shaped today's yeshivah world.

Rabbi Yitzchok Kasnett compiled it. The large-format paperback runs 143 pages at 8.5 by 11 inches, published in English in December 1997.
