Description
Design 200 covers the black velvet with dense gold thread work rather than setting a small motif into open ground. The stitching runs across most of the face, so what you see first is gold, with the velvet reading as the shadow between the lines. It is a full, traditional look, and the one a lot of men picture when they think of a talis bag.
Three sizes are made. The bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 by 10 inches is sized for tefillin and is the one bought for a boy coming up to his bar mitzvah. The 14-inch large talis bag holds a standard tallis folded. The 16-inch extra large is the one to take if the tallis is heavy wool, or if the tefillin bag is going to live inside it rather than travel separately.
Lucite Judaica is made in the same 200 design, which is a useful thing to know if you want the bag and something for the house to belong together.
