Description
The gold embroidery on design 210 runs edge to edge across the black velvet, with no border left clear. Because the pattern reaches the seams the bag looks finished from every angle rather than only from the front, and the gold thread stands well clear of the nap. There is nothing restrained about it, which is the point.
It comes in the bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 by 10 inches, the large talis bag at 14 by 14, and the extra large at 16 by 16. The bar mitzvah size is the tefillin size in practice; a bochur carrying it every day will still be using it long after the seudah. The two larger sizes are for a tallis, and the difference between them matters most once the tallis has any real weight.
Design 210 is also made in Chanukah pieces and in prayer booklet covers, so a family that likes the pattern can extend it past the bag itself.
