Description
Gold scrollwork sweeps across the black velvet on design 250, curling rather than squaring off, so the front has movement to it. The scrolls are stitched with varying weight — heavier through the main curves, finer at the tips — which is what stops the pattern from flattening out at a distance.
It is made in the bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 by 10 inches, the large talis bag at 14 by 14 and the extra large at 16 by 16. This is one of the easier bags to buy without seeing it first: the scrollwork is a familiar face, it suits a bochur and it suits a man in his fifties replacing an old bag, and neither will feel it was chosen for the other.
A challah cover is made in design 250, so the scrollwork carries over to the Shabbos table if you want the two bought together.
