Description
The 250 scrollwork again, this time laid down in silver thread on black velvet. The curves are identical to the gold version but the tone changes the character of the bag entirely — silver on black is closer to monochrome, and the pattern shows as texture and shadow more than as colour.
Sizes are 10.5 by 10 inches in the bar mitzvah cut, 14 by 14 as a large talis bag and 16 by 16 extra large. Silver is the version to take if the rest of what a man carries runs cool: a silver atarah, silver-finished tefillin clips, a silver-trimmed siddur. For tefillin on their own the 10.5 by 10 is sized correctly, and the two larger sizes are both genuine tallis sizes rather than one being a compromise.
