Description
Malchut design 325 is embroidered on both the front and the back, which is less common than it sounds — most bags in this range carry their thread work on one face only. It means the bag looks the same however it sits on a bench or in a bag, and there is no wrong side to keep turned inward.
It is cut as a bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 by 10 inches, a large talis bag at 14 by 14 and an extra large at 16 by 16. The double-sided embroidery is worth the most on the larger sizes, where the bag is likely to be carried openly rather than tucked under an arm. For a bochur with a single pair of tefillin, the 10.5 by 10 is correct.
Lucite pieces are made in design 325 as well, which extends the pattern past the bag if you want a matching item for the house.
