Design 743 extends the cornerwork of 740 into a full gold border running round the black velvet. The corners still carry the heaviest thread, but the pattern now connects along all four sides, so the face is closed rather than open at the edges.
Three sizes: 10.5 by 10 inches for bar mitzvah, 14 by 14 as a large talis bag and 16 by 16 extra large. A complete border is a natural pick for a bar mitzvah bochur — it looks like a proper gift rather than a plain bag, and the centre is still clear enough for lettering if the family wants his name on it. For a full wool tallis, take the 16-inch.
