Description
Design 763 tightens the 760 lattice into a smaller repeat across the black velvet. More crossings, finer spacing, and the effect at a distance is closer to a woven texture than to an applied pattern. Up close the individual gold lines are still clearly separate.
It is available in the bar mitzvah size at 10.5 by 10 inches, the large talis bag at 14 by 14 and the extra large at 16 by 16. The tighter repeat suits the smaller bag particularly well, since a fine pattern does not look sparse at 10.5 by 10 the way a wide one can. On the 16-inch it gives a rich, even face with no empty ground.
Between 760 and 763 the choice is scale: the wider lattice reads bolder, the tighter one reads richer, and both are worked in the same gold on the same black velvet.
