Description
Design 860 brings silver embroidery to a black velvet bag, with the thread worked evenly enough that the pattern reads as a whole rather than as separate motifs. Silver against black is the cleaner of the two classic combinations, and it suits a man whose other pieces, clips, atarah, tefillin case, are already silver-toned.
Sized for bar mitzvah at 10.5 by 10 or for a full tallis at 14 by 14, with a 16 by 16 extra large above that. A bochur receiving tefillin will use the smallest for years; the 14 by 14 is the size he moves into as an adult; and the 16 by 16 is there for a large wool tallis.
Malchut also makes 860 as a matzah cover and a haggadah cover. For a family that already has the bag, adding the Pesach pieces in the same number is a straightforward way to bring one design through the year.
