Description
The 892 pattern in silver thread on black velvet. Against the dark ground the silver picks out the structure of the design more sharply than gold does, so the same drawing reads as crisper and less ornate. For a bag carried every weekday morning, that restraint is often what buyers want.
Cut as a 10.5 by 10 bar mitzvah bag or as a 14 by 14 or 16 by 16 talis bag. If tefillin and tallis travel together, which is how most men use one bag, the 14 by 14 is the minimum that works comfortably. The 16 by 16 is for a large tallis or for the man who also carries a siddur.
Silver and black also sits well with the plainer tefillin cases, so nothing inside the bag fights with the outside of it. That is a small consideration, but it is the kind of thing that gets noticed once a bag has been opened a thousand times.
