Description
Silver embroidery over black velvet in Malchut's 897 design. The thread work is fine rather than heavy, so the velvet stays the dominant material and the silver acts as an outline. Men who dislike a bag that looks like it is trying to be noticed tend to end up at a design like this one.
It is sized 10.5 by 10 for a bar mitzvah bochur or 14 by 14 for a full tallis, with a 16 by 16 extra large above that. The smallest is a real boy's size and will carry his tefillin and a smaller tallis together; the 14 by 14 is what he moves into; and the 16 by 16 is for a large wool tallis or a heavier load.
A quiet silver bag is also the easier choice for a man who already owns a good tallis with silver clips and does not want a second focal point on his shoulder.
