Silver embroidery on black velvet, design 918 from Malchut. The pattern has enough coverage to give the front real character while leaving the velvet visible around it, which is the balance that keeps a silver bag from looking either bare or overworked.
Bar mitzvah 10.5 by 10, 14 by 14 talis and 16 by 16 extra large options are all made. The smallest is a boy's bag in proportion as well as in name. The 14 by 14 is the everyday adult size. The 16 by 16 is for a large tallis, and it is also what men order when they want tallis, tefillin and a second pair of tefillin all in one bag rather than carrying two.
Silver keeps its appearance without any upkeep, which is worth something on a piece that will be handled every morning for years. Keep the velvet away from direct sun and the bag will look much the same at the end as at the beginning.
