Malchut puts gold embroidery on black velvet in design 940, working the thread evenly enough that the pattern holds together whether the bag is seen from across the shul or lying open on a bench. The black velvet is the deep, heavy kind that gives the gold something to sit against.
It is sized for bar mitzvah at 10.5 by 10 or for a full tallis at 14 by 14, with a 16 by 16 extra large as well. The bar mitzvah bag is properly proportioned for a boy, not merely relabelled. The 14 by 14 is the size to order for a man. The 16 by 16 is for a large wool tallis or a heavier daily carry.
The 940 number runs across the vendor's Shabbos and Pesach work too, as a challah cover, challah board, matzah cover and haggadah cover, which makes it one of the easiest designs to build a coordinated set around.
