Description
Design #990 is one of the widest-travelling numbers Malchut runs, and this is the standard reading of it: gold embroidery on black velvet. The gold work sits square on the velvet face, and because the pattern is used across so many other pieces, it is one of the more recognisable designs on a shul bench.
It comes in three sizes. The 10.5 x 10 bar mitzvah bag is cut for a bochur; the 14 x 14 large talis bag is the adult standard, holding a full tallis with tefillin; and the 16 x 16 extra large handles a big wool tallis without packing it down. The size is the only choice here, since the colour and thread are fixed.
