Embroidered Bris Cover for the Simcha, Malchut Design #539

Malchut's embroidery work, the same hand that goes into their tallis and tefillin bags, turned toward the bris. Design #539 is a fully embroidered cover, worked densely enough that the pattern holds its shape under the lights and in front of a camera. It is a piece meant to be seen at close range by everyone standing around the kisei shel Eliyahu, and it is built accordingly.

A bris cover gets one job, and it gets it at the most photographed moment of a young family's year. It goes over the baby before and between the parts of the bris, keeps him covered while the room fills, and then folds away to be brought out again for the next one. Families who buy one generally buy it once and use it for every son, which is why it is worth taking the trouble to pick a design you will still like in ten years.

#539 is also produced as a challah cover and as a matzah cover, so a family can order the bris cover now and add the Shabbos and Pesach pieces later in the same design. That kind of matching across the year is the specific thing Malchut does, and it makes this an easy piece for grandparents to build a gift around.
