Description
Extra Tall Chupah Havdalah Set
This is the set used where an ordinary candle will not survive the room: outdoors under a chupah, in a drafty hall, on a shul bimah near a door. Two windproof glass holders shield the flame, and their extra height keeps the fire well down inside the glass where the draft cannot reach it.
The two candles are beeswax rather than paraffin, which burns with a steadier flame and a scent people notice at close range. The set carries a wedding and then continues in service for havdalah week after week, which is why it is bought as a chosson or kallah gift as often as for a shul.
Glass and beeswax together give the set real presence on a table. Handle the holders as you would any glass — they are the part that lasts for years, while the candles are replaced as they burn down.
