Description
#1085 is a study in restraint: a plain field in the middle, worked borders running around it, and enough contrast between the two that neither one gets lost. Designs like this age better than busy ones, because the eye reads the shape first and the detail second. The border embroidery is dense where it needs to be and stops cleanly, with no stray filler stitching to catch on a coat sleeve.
You choose from three cuts. The bar mitzvah bag is 10.5" x 10", made for a bochur carrying tefillin and a light tallis. The large talis bag is 14" x 14", the size most men use. The extra large is 16" x 16" and takes a heavy or oversized tallis without pressure on the seams. Bags that are packed too tightly wear out at the zipper first, so err upward if you are unsure.
