Description
Colour is what sets #1257 apart. One version puts green embroidery on black leather, which is an unusual combination and a striking one, the green reading almost as a dark jewel tone against the hide rather than as a bright accent. The other runs black embroidery on light grey leather, quieter and more tonal, with the pattern showing through texture rather than colour. Both are leather bags with the design stitched directly into the surface.
The bag comes in the bar mitzvah cut at 10.5" x 10", the large talis cut at 14" x 14", and the extra large at 16" x 16". A bochur with a first pair of tefillin fits comfortably in the smallest. A man with a standard woolen tallis wants the 14" x 14"; if the tallis is heavy, take the 16" x 16".
Green on black is the one to consider if you are buying for someone who already owns a plain black bag and wants his next one to be recognisably different without being loud about it.
