Description
A variation on Malchut's 1257, #1257-39 keeps the shape and structure of the original but sits in the plainer part of the custom line. Less thread on the face, a simpler treatment overall, and a correspondingly easier price, but built on the same body with the same square finishing at the corners. It is the sensible version of a design that also exists in a more elaborate form.
Three sizes are available: 10.5" x 10" for bar mitzvah, 14" x 14" for a large talis bag, and 16" x 16" for extra large. The bar mitzvah bag is the one to buy alongside a first pair of tefillin. The 14" x 14" is what most men use. The 16" x 16" is for a large tallis and for the man who has never once wished his bag were smaller.
For a bochur heading into yeshiva, a bag from this part of the range makes practical sense. It takes daily handling without the fine detail work that wears first on a more ornate design.
