Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Black Leather with Two-Tone Fur, Design #1329

Two-tone fur against black leather gives 1329 its depth. The black-and-white version is the higher-contrast of the pair, the pale hairs catching light across the band. The brown-and-black version is warmer and reads more subdued, with the brown pulling the whole bag away from the strict black-and-grey palette most tallis bags stay in. The leather is black on both, and the fur is set into the face rather than applied as an edging.

The bag is made as a 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah size, a 14" x 14" large talis bag, or a 16" x 16" extra large. A bochur with new tefillin takes the smallest and will not outgrow it quickly. A man with a full woolen tallis belongs in one of the larger cuts, and the extra large is the safer of the two if the tallis is thick.

Brown-and-black fur is worth considering if the bag will be carried with a brown-toned siddur cover or alongside a brown leather gartel bag, since it sits far more naturally with warm tones than a plain black bag does.
