Description
Tight, even detail across the face, worked at a scale that does not overwhelm the bag. Design 1420 is meant to be used rather than admired, and it is built accordingly: a practical body weight, stitching that is dense enough to hold its shape, and no fur or velvet to worry about in bad weather. Malchut prices it in the middle of the custom line, which puts it within reach as an everyday bag rather than a special one.
The sizes are 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah, 14" x 14" large talis, and 16" x 16" extra large. The bar mitzvah cut carries tefillin and a bochur's light tallis. The 14" x 14" is what most men need. The 16" x 16" is for a heavy tallis, or for a man who would rather have space than have to compress everything each morning.
For daily use in all weather, a fully embroidered bag with no applied trim is the most forgiving thing you can buy. There is nothing on it that rain or a shtender corner can lift.
