Description
Design #6064 is a fur bag in a warmer palette than the usual black. Brown and white fur is the softer of the two, a mixed panel that reads warm and light and looks nothing like a standard tallis bag. Black and brown fur is deeper and more serious, with the brown lifting what would otherwise be an entirely dark surface. Both are worked over the same construction.
Malchut cuts it in three sizes: bar mitzvah at 10.5 by 10 inches, large talis at 14 by 14, extra large at 16 by 16. Most adult buyers take the 14 by 14, which holds a folded tallis and both tefillin. The 16 by 16 is the size for heavy wool and for anyone who has been fighting a bag that was always slightly too small.
Brown is a real alternative to black on a fur bag and is the reason this design gets ordered. In a row of dark bags it is immediately identifiable as yours.
