Description
The Allergy Alert Kippah is a four-panel yarmulke with an embroidered red allergy patch, offered in 5 fabric colours and 7 sizes (dome 1 to 6 plus an 18cm flat) at $9.99. On the front sits a round red patch reading ALLERGY ALERT around a white medical star with a staff, and under it the words flip for info are stitched in white. Inside, the lining is printed with ruled lines headed I'm allergic to:, Name: and In case of an emergency:, so a parent can write the details in with a fabric marker. The five options are navy twill, light denim, a navy Starry Night print with tiny white dots, black twill and dark denim. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

| Kippah | Material | Season / weight | Formality | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Allergy Alert (5 colours) (this one) | Cotton twill or denim | Year-round | Everyday school wear | A child with allergies who needs the details on him at all times |
| Medical Alert Kippah / Yarmulke | Dark denim | Year-round | Everyday | A general medical condition, with Medical Alert Details Under! in red |

Best for
- A child with a food or medication allergy starting school, camp or a new babysitter
- Parents who want allergy details written where staff will actually find them
- Boys whose school allows navy, black or denim kippot
- Adults with a serious allergy who want a discreet alert on Shabbos when phones are away
Not the right choice if
- A general medical condition such as diabetes or epilepsy; the patch says ALLERGY
- A formal simcha look; the red patch is meant to be noticed
- You want a flat kippah in several sizes; the only flat cut is 18cm
- A replacement for a medical ID bracelet; use it alongside one
Why customers choose it
The problem with allergy information is that it lives on a form in an office while the child is at recess or on a trip. This kippah puts the warning on the front, where a teacher or counsellor sees it, and the details on the inside, where a parent can write the allergen, the child's name and an emergency number. The patch uses the familiar medical star so it is recognised at a glance, and the five colours mean a child can wear one that fits his school's dress code.
Size guide
| Size | Typical fit |
|---|---|
| 1 | Toddler, roughly 2–3 years |
| 2 | Young child, roughly 4–5 years |
| 3 | Child, roughly 6–7 years |
| 4 | Older child, roughly 8–10 years |
| 5 | Teen and most adult men — the most-ordered size |
| 6 | Larger adult head |
| 18cm Flat | Flat style, 18 cm across — typically teen to adult |
Sizing is guidance, not a promise — heads vary. When you are between two sizes, the larger one sits better.
Frequently asked questions
What is printed inside the kippah?
The lining has ruled lines under three headings: I'm allergic to:, Name: and In case of an emergency:. You fill them in with a fabric marker.
Which colours can I choose?
Navy, light denim, Starry Night (navy with tiny white dots and star shapes), black and dark denim. Pick the colour in the design menu.
What does flip for info mean on the front?
It tells an adult to turn the kippah over and read the allergy details and emergency contact written on the lining.
How is this different from the Medical Alert kippah?
The Medical Alert kippah covers any medical condition and says Medical Alert Details Under!. This one is specifically marked ALLERGY ALERT.
What pen should I use on the lining?
