Description
The Mini Smiles Kippah is a four-panel black printed yarmulke covered in small white smiley faces, offered in 9 sizes (dome 1 to 6 plus 16, 18 and 20cm flat) at $9.99. Each smiley is a hand-drawn white circle with two dot eyes and a curved grin, packed tightly in rows across the black cotton, and here and there a face has a little drip running from its outline. There is no other colour, so it is fun but not loud. The rim is bound in the same print. Sold by Judaica Square, shipping from Lakewood, NJ.

Best for

- Teens who like a graphic, streetwear look
- Purim or a class celebration
- Siblings and a parent, with sizes from 1 to a 20cm flat
Not the right choice if
- A dressy Shabbos kippah
- A strict solid-colour dress code
- Anyone wanting colour; this is black and white only
- Someone who wants one large smiley; these are small and repeated
Why customers choose it
Smiley prints are usually bright yellow. Mini Smiles keeps the idea but draws it in white on black, which looks more like a graphic tee than a toy, and that is why older kids and teens tend to pick it. The faces are small and tightly packed, so from a distance it reads as a black and white texture, and up close it makes people smile.

Frequently asked questions
What colours is the Mini Smiles kippah?
Only black and white: white outlined smiley faces on a black ground.
Why do some faces drip?
It is part of the design; a few smileys have a drip running down, like wet paint.
How does it compare with the 3D Emojis kippah?
3D Emojis is full-colour yellow with many expressions. Mini Smiles is a simpler black and white smiley pattern.
Is it suitable for school?
It depends on the school. It is black and white, so it is more likely to pass than a bright print, but check the dress code.
Which size for a twelve-year-old?
Size 4 or 5 usually fits; choose 5 if he is between sizes.
