Kids Sefer Torah with Velvet Cover, Alef Beis Scroll, 15.4 x 8 Box

The same idea with a different scroll. Instead of pesukim, this one is printed with the full alef beis and the nekudos, and the box measures 15.4 by 8 inches, making it the larger of the velvet covered children's Sifrei Torah. The mantle comes on and off like the real thing.

Printing the letters rather than the text changes who it is for. A boy who is still learning his letters can actually read what is in front of him, which turns the scroll from a prop into something he uses, and the nekudos mean it stays useful through the whole stretch of kometz alef and into reading words. A child rolling to find a letter he has been taught that week is doing something real with it.

That makes this the version to take for a boy at the beginning of cheder rather than a toddler at an upsherin, who wants something to carry more than something to read. It is also a genuinely useful thing for a mother or a rebbi to have on hand for practising letters with a child who is not making progress from a chart.
