Description

She arranged guides to slip refugees past the border, kept the Swiss police from sending them back, and with her husband opened their home so that the people she rescued could eat and sleep there. The book traces her life from girlhood in Antwerp, as a daughter of the city's chief rabbi, through the war years, with photographs, a timeline, a glossary, a bibliography and a note from her daughter.
