Havdalah is short, and the candle is the part of it everyone watches. This one is hand-made and rounded rather than machine-pressed flat, with blue and white wax worked together so the color pattern runs around the body of the candle instead of sitting on the surface.
Because it is formed by hand, no two are exactly alike in their swirl, and the rounded profile is comfortable for a child to hold high while the brachos are said. It burns long enough for Havdalah with room to spare, and the wax is firm enough to store upright in a drawer between weeks.
