Frequently asked questions

How late can I order before Yom Kippur?
Allow about two weeks — 1–3 business days to ship plus 3–7 in transit. Yom Kippur falls only days after Rosh Hashanah, so if you are ordering for both, order once for both rather than twice.

Which Yom Kippur machzor do I need?
Match your shul's nusach first, then the format. A Yom Kippur machzor is a separate volume from Rosh Hashanah; most people buy the pair together. Large print is worth serious thought here — it is a long day and shul lighting is not always kind.

What is the difference between a machzor and selichos?
Selichos are said through Elul and the Aseres Yemei Teshuvah, and come as their own volume. The machzor covers the tefillos of Yom Kippur itself. Many households own both, and a selichos is the one people forget until the week before.

Do you stock kittels and non-leather shoes?
Seasonally, as stocked. Availability moves quickly in the days before Yom Kippur, so ordering early or calling ahead is the reliable approach rather than assuming stock on erev Yom Kippur.

What do I need for a child's first fast or first time in shul?
A children's machzor or a simplified Yom Kippur book helps enormously, and children's Yamim Noraim books are worth having for the afternoon. If a child is fasting for the first time, staff can point you to age-appropriate options.

Can I pick up in store before Yom Kippur?
Yes, and it is the safest option close to the day. Both Lakewood locations are open Sunday to Thursday 10am–10pm and Friday 10am–3pm, closed Shabbos.
