Seventy-two European-made Shabbos candles, each one burning about four hours. The wax is an extra white grade, so the candles look crisp in silver leichter instead of the yellowed cream you get from cheaper stock.
The reason people stay with these is the smoke, or rather the absence of it. A smoky candle leaves a haze over the table through the meal and a gray film on the ceiling over a winter. These are made to burn clean from lighting to the last quarter inch.
