Machzor Set in Antique Bronze Leather, Kaftor for Kallahs #1567
Pickup at both Lakewood stores
Description
Bronze antique leather on the #1567 design, made up as the Kaftor machzorim for a kallah. Bronze sits between brown and gold and shifts with the light — warm and metallic under the shul's bulbs, closer to a deep tan by daylight. The antique treatment is what produces that; the finish is deliberately uneven so the raised areas read lighter than the recesses.
This is bought as a gift, almost always by a chosson and almost always in the weeks before Tishrei. The Kaftor machzorim are the set a woman uses for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and unlike jewelry, it is a gift that comes out on a fixed schedule every single year, which is exactly why the leather and not the printing is what people compare.
The #1567 design also exists as siddur covers, haggadah covers, zemiros booklets and Chanukah pieces, so a couple can build a matched shelf across their first years rather than buying everything at once.
